If you know someone who has sustained an ABI then it's important that correct information is relayed to you, their carers and teachers. We organise and host a variety of training sessions to educate people about how ABI can change lives and how we can help children and young people with an ABI to succeed.

Training courses are offered at different levels, but it is important that before you enrol on a level 2 course, you have attended at least one of the Level 1 courses. Level 3 courses are only open to those who have attended at least three Level 2 courses. We have a number of training courses available. Each one is designed with a different aim in mind and is intended to impart knowledge and enable attendees to provide better support to people who have sustained an ABI. Planned courses are listed below. If you would like to attend a course even if there is not that particular one scheduled, please click here to contact the office. Our courses are deliberately kept small in number (6-10 participants) and if there is enough demand a date can be arranged. However as there are very few delegates, you are asked to notify us if you are not able to attend having booked a place. Unfortunately unless we can refill your places any cancellations made fewer than seven days before the days of the training day, will need to be charged. Some courses are at Level 1 We also have some Level 2 courses which presuppose a good understanding of ABI We also offer awareness sessions which are much shorter. These may be aimed at children, young people or adults, whether in the education sector or more generally. They may be one or two hours, or part of planned PHSE for Year 5 to 8. SHIPS offers two Brain Injury Awareness sessions, one for adults and one for children or young people, tailored to the age of the participants. ABI awareness, aimed at educators and carers, online 23 November 2021 at 3:30 for about 75mins Courses may be tailored to your requirements with SHIPS staff travelling to your centre.
