We have a number of resources which may help you in educating a young person with ABI. There is no one pattern of learning after ABI, the young people were different before their injury and are different now and programmes need to be taylored to their learning needs. However we have a number of advice sheets which may be helpful.

Conference
We have reinstituted the Bristol Conferences which used to be an annual event run by the teachers at Frenchay Hospital. Details about the next conference will be found here.
Lifeboats
This is our name for programmes to help young people who have not yet acquired these vital skills. Some of these resources are well tested, and others are in the process of development however all resources are under constant review.
We have resources in the following areas
Reading - decoding and comprehension (needs RA of at least 8)
Number - cardinality, ordinality, place value, calculation skills, algebra, proportion, geometry
Brain Injury Awareness, and the kind of strategies which are helpful (aimed at age 11+)
Restoration of underlying skills
Writing
Social skills
Language skills
