Moving to Big School - part of the transition programme
We are now taking bookings for 22 March 2018
This half day course is for parents of young people currently in Year 6 (and possibly those in Years 7 to 9). We will discuss the changes which occur with the move to Key Stage 3 and how to manage them.
Although this course is really for parents and families, we also welcome teachers, LSAs, educational psychologists and SENCOs. It will assume knowledge of ABI, and then discuss the issues of transition from Primary to Secondary education. There will be 2 sessions:
- Moving to Big School
- Workshop: Transitional challenges facing parents and young people
Venue: The course will be held at our base at 45 Stanley Road, Warmley BS15 4NX.
Time: 1pm to 3:30pm, 12:45pm for coffee
This course follows on from the Teenage Years course. Please bring your own lunch if you are staying for both courses.
Cost: £15 for schools and families in The SHIPS Project , £35 for others. A cheque made out to SHIPS will be required when booking a place. We have support from a local solicitor to pay for parent places.
